Beef Feedlot
Monitoring Windows version 2.0
Cattle feeders cannot wait until cattle are marketed to know how
well the cattle performed. Performance must be monitored at least
weekly to determine if nutrient requirements are being met. Intake
must be known so average daily gains can be computed. Knowing cattle
weights becomes extremely important during the last 30 to 45 days
of the finishing period. Cattle feeders also need to know their
production costs to determine what price can be paid for feeder
cattle, and to take advantage of forward pricing opportunities.
The program computes performance projections for ADG, cost per
pound of gain, and breakevens. The program also allows for variable
degrees of ownership. The Beef Feedlot Performance and Cost Monitoring
program prints pen closeout data that includes: inventory of feeds
consumed, performance, and cost analysis. Other printout provided
is billing invoices for custom feedlots. The program is designed
to handle multiple feedlots for businesses offering feedlot monitoring
as a service.
